Case Studies The Danish Neighbourhood Regeneration Programme. Kvarterløft in Copenhagen
Decision making in Kongens Enghave
Description of the decision making structure in Kongens Enghave All local Kvarterløft programmes in Copenhagen have their own local steering group that has the right to approve local proposals and send them on to the central municipality. In Kongens Enghave the steering group have changed over time. From 1997 to 2001 the local programme had a political steering group consisting of 8 local politicians – representing all political parties and all other committees in the local council. The steering group was organised as a council committee – referring to the local council, and all members were elected in direct elections for the local council.
After the closing of the local council a new steering group was formed which resembles the other local steering groups. This steering group consists of local stakeholders:
-
representatives from the residents (from the working groups)
-
representatives from the different types of housing (also local residents)
-
representatives from local institutions (library, schools, social service)
-
representatives from local organisations (housing partnerships, Agenda 21 group etc)
-
representatives from the central municipality departments (as observers)
