Case Studies The Danish Neighbourhood Regeneration Programme. Kvarterløft in Copenhagen
To secure anchoring
There are no easy answers on how to secure an anchoring of the specific projects and a continuing development of the neighbourhood in general after the regeneration projects is closed down. In the regeneration project in Kongens Enghave different types of approaches have been used to try to anchor the different projects after the project is closed down. Some of the participants have been helped to focus on how to establish network so it will be possible to keep focus both on issues inside the neighbourhood between different stakeholders but also to get the municipality to keep focus on the neighbourhood in general. In the first case with the different stakeholders inside the neighbourhood it can be difficult to maintain the focus on the projects when there is no coordinator - it requires lot of energy for the stakeholders to keep working together on projects that in some cases can be very abstract. Therefore it is important to establish a forum for different stakeholders to discuss and react on how the neighbourhood should develop in the future.
Regarding the municipality and the overall focus on the neighbourhood the different departments are interested and willing to keep focus on for example the Kongens Enghave neighbourhood. But in many cases these projects also are cross-sector projects concerning several departments within the municipality and this leave the projects with the problem that the different departments have to work together and share both the financing, the responsibility and the credit of the projects. Often this combination leaves the projects hard to follow especially when the regeneration projects no longer can coordinate between the departments and remind the departments of their responsibility.
