Case Studies The Danish Neighbourhood Regeneration Programme. Kvarterløft in Copenhagen
The process of arriving to a good strategy to ensure a sustainable development
The work towards a strategy for ensuring the local results was started in 2000 and continued in the years after that. A framework for the discussion was set up by the secretariat, and this was then debated by the working groups, meetings for all working groups and at the annual conference. In this process it was discussed:
-
What are the most important projects?
-
How do the project workers secure the overall strategy?
-
Who are the people/organisations the project workers have to involve?
The process of anchoring in Kongens Enghave has shown two things
- There must be an anchoring strategy for each individual project within the programme
- ♦There must be an anchoring strategy for the entire local programme
In Kongens Enghave this last point has meant working with: -how do we secure local networks (a network-coordinator will be employed – paid by the municipality) -how do we balance the various interests in a local neighbourhood.
We have made a revision of the original action plan in the spring of 2003 – stating the results of 6 years work. This plan sums up projects that we have carried out, projects that we have had to give up etc. And it gives directions for the future work.
The work has not been finished yet. In May 2003 there was a local seminar on the future work in the neighbourhood and the focus on the future work in Kongens Enghave will continue till the end of Kvarterløft.
