Case Studies   The Danish Neighbourhood Regeneration Programme. Kvarterløft in Copenhagen

These are the visions of Kongens Enghave:

Housing and residents

We want to work for a more differentiated housing structure and a more diverse population. It has to be done in the Kongens Enghave way – not forcing anybody out of the neighbourhood.

Traffic

The neighbourhood must be better integrated with the rest of the city. The through traffic has to be reduced and the safety within the neighbourhood has to improve too.

Employment

The business area and the housing neighbourhood have to be better integrated, physically and functionally. The balance between the workforce and the jobs available has to improve too.

The environment

Kongens Enghave is the green neighbourhood of Copenhagen. This must be strengthened – both physically but also in the way the local residents live and spend resources. It is important to have the active participation of the residents in this work.
