Case Studies The Danish Neighbourhood Regeneration Programme. Kvarterløft in Copenhagen
Dialogue meetings – and informal interviews
In August 1997 – as the programme was about to start the project workers set up a series of dialogue meetings with representatives of the major stakeholder groups of the neighbourhood: Housing organisations, organisations, businesses, local institutions etc. The purpose of these interviews was to:
-
inform the local stakeholders about the regeneration programme
-
inform the local stakeholders on how to influence what was going to happen
-
getting to know the history of the local stakeholders
-
talk about possible ideas for working together in the coming process
This proved to be a very important exercise as it made the following process transparent. Everybody had the same information about what was going to happen
The project staff also conducted a series of more informal interviews with local stakeholders (individuals) in order to get to know the neighbourhood – and establish personal relationships with people.
