Public spending
Significant amounts of public monies are often spent on
infrastructure and direct social subsidies in such neighbourhoods.
Yet an absence of a long-term holistic, cross-sectoral strategy
for putting in place inclusive structures that can capitalise
on these improvements results in a failure to impact on
the existence of both residents and businesses. When spending
ceases the neighbourhoods and the quality of life therein
might quickly decline again.
