February 27, 28, 29 and March 1, 2000, at the Swiss Federal Institute of
Technology in Zurich (Switzerland), an international transdisciplinarity
conference of joint problem solving among Science, technology and society was
held. The Conference was dealing about new forms of mutual learning involving
science, technology and society to efficiently meet the complex challenges of
the 21st century, more than 600 advanced scientists from all around the world
took part.

The paper on findings of the IUPM project, presented
by Paulius Kulikauskas, received a diploma (1 of ten among 250 projects from
around the world) of Swiss transdisciplinarity award.
The Jury distinguished the paper for "its lucid analysis of stakeholder
participation and for overcoming obstacles in cross-sectoral urban
planning".
Our success, we believe, proves the vitality of the Interreg IIC
BSR programme.
