The
IUPM project was represented at the Quality Forum on "Urban
system and urban networking", arranged by the Interreg
IIC BSR Secretariat in Oslo, 6-7 October 2000. This one has
been the first of a series of three workshops that mainly aim at
providing a forum for collecting information from all projects and for
exchanging experience between projects dealing with similar themes.
The
participants to the Quality Forum 1 working groups have discussed
topics focusing on spatial planning and development approach,
transnational approach and partnership, project results and follow-up
actions in parallel round tables, based on experience learned from
day-to-day project.

Results
of this brainstorming should help to evaluate the project results
against objectives of the programme and to make practical
recommendations for future Interreg 3B partners, including
decision-makers in the programme committees. They should be summarised
and available from the Interreg IIC BSR Web site after completion of
all workshops.
The
organisers seized the opportunity to inform about Interreg
IIIB programme within the EU Baltic Sea Region, which is
currently under preparation. The first open call for applications is planned to
be launched after summer 2001.
